Uber launches hailing of Motional robotaxis in Las Vegas

Uber users in Las Vegas can now hail Motional’s robotaxis for autonomous trips around Sin City.

Aptiv acquires edge software developer Wind River for $4.3bn

Aptiv, an electric vehicle parts supplier, is acquiring Wind River from TPG Capital for $4.3 billion (£3.14bn) in cash.

Wind River builds software for edge networks and is currently used on more than two billion edge devices by 1,700 global customers. It generated $400 million (£292m) in revenue in 2021.

Hyundai-Aptiv joint venture Motional unveils its first Lyft robotaxi

Motional, a joint venture between Hyundai and Aptiv, has unveiled its first robotaxi that will be available via Lyft’s app.

The all-electric IONIQ 5 robotaxi is based on the same vehicle that launched worldwide earlier this year. As a Level 4 autonomous vehicle, it can safely operate without a driver.
