Globalstar has unveiled a new addition to its growing portfolio of industrial IoT asset tracking solutions.

In collaboration with Global Satellite Engineering (GSE), the company has introduced GSatSolar—a compact, rugged, and cost-effective tracking device designed to enhance the efficiency of tracking software tools for Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and customers.

GSatSolar, powered by satellite technology, enables an increased number of trackable assets in near-real time. This advancement aims to provide more reliable and usable data in the field, contributing to improved operational efficiency and facilitating true remote IoT autonomous data collection.

Jake Rembert, VP of Sales at Globalstar, expressed enthusiasm about the new offering: “GSatSolar is a low-cost option to monitor assets remotely on the Globalstar LEO network and delivers a plethora of verified IoT data across IoT applications.”

Rembert emphasised the versatility of GSatSolar, which expands the company’s satellite tracking capabilities while maintaining features such as low power consumption, extended lifespan, and high performance.

GSatSolar’s compact size allows for flexible mounting options – catering to diverse enterprise industrial applications – and promises to be durable and resistant to extreme temperatures. Equipped with a solar panel and internal battery, the device can report data for years in environments with regular sun exposure.

Key data collection capabilities of GSatSolar include location tracking, accelerometer functionality, and Bluetooth sensor options.

Users have the flexibility to forward data either to Globalstar’s SPOT My Globalstar platform – offering features like live and historical tracking, alerts, geofences, and shared views – or directly to a VAR’s back office or customer endpoint.

Globalstar’s latest addition reinforces its commitment to providing innovative and reliable tracking solutions for the evolving needs of businesses operating in remote environments.
